Reginald Smith is also commemorated in the Caterpillar Valley NZ Memorial near Longueval Village, France. Ernest Smith is commemorated in the Martinsart British Cemetery in Martinsart Village,France.

Reginald Albert Smith (died 15 Sept 1916 - Somme) and Ernest Edward Smith (died 5 April 1918 - Somme) were both sons of George & Emily Smith of Thornbury. They embarked with the 10th Reinforcements Otago Infantry Battalion, D Company on 4th March 1916. Three brothers Frank, Arthur & William also served overseas.
