The name of the lady has been mis-transcribed. Her surname is not Maurice but Mounce, there are no members of the Maurice family in Springston.
She was the wife of Frederick Mounce of Springston, married in 1882, and her maiden name was Kime, daughter of Henry Kime and Eliza Naylor, (her full name was Elizabeth Naylor Kime). Born in 1861 in Holbeach, Lincolnshire she came to New Zealand with her parents Henry Kime and Eliza Naylor. She died in 1945 in Christchurch, her death notice alluding to her link to Springston. Elizabeth Naylor, beloved wife of the late Frederick Mounce, and loved mother of Mrs F. Ridden, Templeton, and W. and R. Mounce, Springston; in her 85th year. (Late of Springston.)
