She married Alfred Wilkinson, a furniture manufacturer, on 24 May 1888 in the Christchurch Barracks of the Salvation Army.

This was the first Hallelujah Wedding to be held in the building and 600 people attended.

Elizabeth and Alfred had seven children, one who died in infancy.

When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition they were living in Castle St, Dunedin near her parents.

The family moved to Christchurch in 1900 where Elizabeth died on 18 August 1928.

Alfred died in 1938, they are buried together in the Bromley Cemetery, Christchurch.
