My grandfather was Fred Butterworth from Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire. He fought in the First World War . He was injured, possibly at The Battle of the Somme, suffering shrapnel wounds .
My mother Kathleen Mary Butterworth was born 16th April 1916 , my aunt Marie Butterworth was born 1924.
I have my grandmother’s old photo album which has pictures of the Butterworth family and home , and the war memorial in Manurewa Auckland
