Does anyone know if this memorial is on the NZ historic trust register? I can't find it and want to snarf it for markeroni.com! http://www.markeroni.com?refer=discoverylover

Hi Frank Thanks for your contributions, would you happen to have a photo of this memorial we could add? In reply to your first post, here is another story about a man and a donkey at Gallipoli. Regards Jamie Mackay Web Editor www.nzhistory.net.nz

When I was 14-15 years of age I was told this story by my next door neighbour, his name was Jack Childe as I know ,he served in ww1 , the story as follows both he and his brother were talking about this ww1 jacks brother was a weight lefter ,I can always remember Jack saying I lift more than he can in the first ww1 I was walking a donkey down a hill with a soldier on it the donkey was hit so I picked up the donkey and all , made it down that hill . Has anyone heard of this story .This was told to me about 1960 Regards frank
