Clara Louisa Morris was born in 1858 in New Zealand, the daughter of Alonzo John Wells Morris, a tailor, and Alice Kennard.
She married James Neil on January 1st 1878 in the Palmerston parish. They had 8 children, 2 who died in infancy.
When Clara signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Goodwood Road, Palmerston.
She died at Palmerston on July 1st 1895 and James died in 1907.
They are buried together in the Palmerston Cemetery.
