Born 15 June 1844 in Brighton, Sussex, England. Daughter of James and Susanna Holes
Married Thomas Stammer Olliver on 24 March 1862 at Hove, Sussex, England.
Sailed to New Zealand from Middlesex on the Northampton. Arrived in Lyttelton, New Zealand on 16 June 1874.
Accompanying with her and husband were the following children:
- James Thomas b 1863
- George Albert b 1865
- Alice Maud b 1867
- Kathleen Annie b 1870
- Alfred Ernest b 1873.
On arrival in New Zealand they were quarantined on Rippa (Rīpapa) Island. The following children were born in New Zealand:
- Susanna Jane (married George Keast) b 1876
- Charles William (died 2 yrs) b 1877
- Edith Mabel (married House) b 1879
- Percy William b 1879 (twin to Edith)
- Frederick Charles Gordon b 1881
- Elsie May (married Edward John Harris) b 1883
- Walter Holes b 1885
- Leonard Allerton – resided in Napier b 1889.
The family spent the years 1880–1892 at the Cob Cottage at Ferrymeade Bridge (Heathcote) Christchurch. They then moved to Sydenham and lived at various addresses.
Jennie as she was known was a member of The Salvation Army, Sydenham Corps (church) hosting meetings in her home and writing in the War Cry. She died 21 August 1904 and was buried with full Salvation Army honours at Sydenham Cemetery.
