Funeral for Tangiwai disaster victims

HRH The Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Philip) attends the funeral at Karori Cemetery, Wellington, on 31 December 1953 for 21 victims of the Tangiwai tragedy. A few months later the mass grave was exhumed after it became clear that some of the bodies had been misidentified.
