The BDM database confirms that James Wright Grey married Martha Ann Currie in 1885.

She does not appear on the 1893 electoral role as any combination of Martha/Marther Gray/Grey

There is also a 'Jane Currie' listed at Bank Street, Timaru on the 1893 petition. On the 1893 eletoral roll Jane is listed as 'Married woman'. Family sources tell us this is probably Martha's mother.

This appears to be my great great grandmother, Martha Grey, nee Currie. She would have been approx. 31 when she signed this petition.
