Hi Graham
I have now added a link to his service record in the Notes field. This shows he was awarded an Imperial South African War medal and two clasps: for 'South Africa, 1902' and 'Transvaal'.
The 9th Contingent arrived in South Africa shortly before the end of the hostilities - read more here

I am the grandson of Robert William Drabble. My father is Leonard Arthur Drabble the 2nd Eldest son. I am looking for any information on when, where and what operations his unit were involved in. I can remember my father having his war medals. There were three medals in total. When my father died my eldest brother had as I know these medals. As I spent 22 years in the Regular Force and served in the vietnam war, am inerested in his history. I know my nephew has one of the medals but we dont know where the other two are. If anyone has any information regarding any of the above i would be very gratefull for information. We as the family would like to have the three medals put together and then presented to an RSA to be decided by the remaining family members. I thank anyone who can help us. Regards. Graham Drabble.
