Annie Gore was born in 1853 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of James Gore, a builder, and Sarah Ann Humphreys.
The family moved to New Zealand about 1863 and settled in Dunedin.
Annie did not marry and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her parents in Hope Street.
After her mother’s death in 1898 Annie 'kept house' for her father until his death in 1917.
She died on 1 February 1934 and is buried with her parents in the Southern Cemetery.
