Farming locality on the banks of the Kaukapakapa River which flows into the southern end of the Kaipara Harbour, 10km north-east of Helensville.
Meaning of place name
Kau: to swim; kapakapa: splashing, or flapping. When the many wild ducks in the creek were hunted by fowlers there was much flapping of wings.
