Farming locality on the Canterbury Plains, on the western outskirts of Christchurch.

Meaning of place name
The early settler and horse breeder Frederick William Delamain owned a horse that he had named Yaldhurst after some stables owned by his uncle in England. Delamain and fellow settler John Taylor, who much admired the horse, agreed to change the name of the locality to that of the horse, Yaldhurst.
