The Maheno wreck on Fraser Island

The remains of the former New Zealand hospital ship Maheno on Fraser Island, Queensland. The wreck survived both Japanese plans to refloat it and its use as a target for bombing practice by the Royal Australian Air Force. It has crumbed considerably since this photograph was taken, but enough of the wreck remains to continue to draw in the tourists. See these more recent images of the wreck on Flickr
