My late Father was with the New Zealanders in Sora/Cassino. He was a despatch rider but attached to the Dental Corps. During his time with the 2nd Div. he kept a daily diary (which I have in my posession) & writes of the excitement when Gen. Freyberg visited his unit. I am travelling to Sora/Cassino in March 2013 in the hope of finding members of a family he became close to during this time. My Dad's name was Lawrence 'Snowy' Raggatt & if anyone reading this has any information on him I would love to hear from you. Also, if there is any interest in his diary I can perhaps arrange for scanning & emailing to anyone interested. Regards, Judy Crisp (Melbourne) A very proud daughter.

[Thanks to Mark Da Vanzo for this translation: 'Good evening. I am Federico and I live in the city of Sora, in Italy. I would like to thank all our friends in New Zealand who in 1944 gifted us our liberty. Sora honours them and thanks them. A fond embrace from Italy.']
