Memorial to a Turkish Soldier, Ari Burnu Memorial, Gallipoli
The plaque tells the story of a Turkish soldier who held up a white flag of peace during the battle for Chunuk Bair so he could help a wounded British soldier. The text was written by First Lieutenant Richard Casey (later Governor-General of Australia).
