Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Eliza/Lizzie Boult was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Boult, a butcher, and Eliza Harding.

The family lived at Waitahuna in Otago, then called Havelock. Lizzie's father died in 1874 and in the early 1880s the family moved to Dunedin, living in the Kensington area.

Lizzie married John Earl Wildey, a tinsmith, in 1897. Lizzie worked at Ross and Glendinning’s Clothing factory and prior to her marriage, she was presented with a tea set and cake dishes as a wedding present from the staff. Lizzie and John had four children and lived in Outram near Dunedin until about 1920 when they moved to Invercargill.

John died in 1956 and Lizzie died on 25 December 1964. They are buried together in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
