Elizabeth Bradley was born in 1869 in New Zealand, the daughter of Levi Bradley, a painter, and Jane Phillips.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition she was living with her widowed mother in Beach St, Waikouaiti, working as a dressmaker.
She married grocer James Gleeson on March 31st 1902 at St John’s, Waikouaiti. They lived in Dunedin and do not appear to have had any children.
Elizabeth and James celebrated their Silver Wedding anniversary in 1927. Ten years later, James died at their home in Dunedin. He is buried in the Gleeson family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
Elizabeth died at her niece’s home in Dunedin on August 10th 1942. She is buried with her family in the St John’s Anglican Cemetery, Waikouaiti.
