Mary Catherine Brugh was born in 1869 in Port Molyneux – the daughter of James Brugh, a farmer, and Isabella Thomson. (See 126 Isabella Brugh)
When Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living at the family farm 'Wisphill Station' near Purekireki in the Owaka Valley.
About 1896 Mary, with her mother and her two sisters, (See 126 C A Brugh and 126 M Barnett Brugh) moved to Dunedin & lived in Serpentine Avenue.
Mary died in Dunedin on 17 November 1918, she is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
