Agnes Cuddie was born in 1861 in Otago – the daughter of Thomas Cuddie, a farmer, and Mary Parkinson.
Her father died when she was 10-years-old and when Agnes signed the suffrage petition she was living in Mosgiel.
She married John Johnston on 13 December 1894 at her sister’s home 'Dowfield', near Outram.
Agnes died on 13 March 1908 at 'Carlowrie', her sister’s (See 77 Margaret D Dow) home near Outram, she is buried in the East Taieri Cemetery.
