Ann Burman Cuff was born in New Zealand in 1864 – the daughter of Frederick Cuff and Elizabeth Bennett.

When she signed the suffrage petition Ann was living in The Glen area of Dunedin and the family later moved to Waverley St, South Dunedin. Her sister Jane also signed the petition.

Ann died on 13 January 1894, aged 28. She is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
