Marion MacKenzie was born about 1833 in Rogart, Sutherlandshire, Scotland.
She married Donald Gordon, a ploughman, on May 26th 1859 in Dornoch, Sutherlandshire. They had 7 children before the family emigrated to Otago in 1878 on the Invercargill.
They settled at Clifton, near Palmerston, north of Dunedin, where Marion signed the suffrage petition.
She died on December 1st 1905, and is buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.
Donald died at their daughter’s home in Melbourne, Australia in 1914. He is buried in the Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery.
