Margaret Mary Milliken was born about 1845 in Ireland.
She had a daughter in 1870 (See 118 Jeannie McMurray) and sometime after this she emigrated to New Zealand with her daughter.
Margaret married Alexander McMurray, a farmer, on 6 September 1879 in Dunedin and they had three children, one who died in infancy.
Alexander died in 1887 and when Margaret signed the suffrage petition she was living in Milton – the Stones Directory gave her occupation as farmer.
She died on 25 December 1907 and she is buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
