Jessie Finlayson Stevenson was born in 1864 in New Zealand, the daughter of Robert Stevenson, a wheelwright, and Jessie Baird.
When Jessie signed the suffrage petition, she was living with her widowed mother and her brother in Russell St, Dunedin. Her mother also signed the petition.
Jessie did not marry. She died on 2 February 1915 and is buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
