Elizabeth was born about 1833 in England and was married to Edward Thornburgh, a sawyer.
They came to New Zealand from Victoria in 1861 and were living in Dunedin by the 1870s.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition they were living in David St, Caversham.
Also signing in nearby Phillip St, South Dunedin was Elizabeth’s sister Jane. (See 64 Jane Hornby)
Elizabeth & Edward ran a small store from their home in David St.
Edward died in 1908 and Elizabeth died at her home on 15 June 1922. They are buried together in the Southern Cemetery.
