Janet Sandilands married Andrew Wedderspoon on 15 August 1856 in Perth, Scotland. In 1874 they emigrated to Otago on the Wild Deer with their eight children: Andrew, William, Peter, Elizabeth, Margaret, John, Ann and Robert.
They lived in Mosgiel until her death on 26 May 1903 aged 63 years.
