Agnes was born in Halkett, west of Christchurch, in 1862 – the daughter of John Anderson, a farmer, and Isabella Knox. (See 127 Isabella Anderson)
In 1881 Agnes’ family moved to Southland but Agnes appears to have stayed in Canterbury with her sister Jane.
Agnes signed the suffrage petition in Ashburton where she remained until her death on 11 July 1940.
She is buried with Jane in the Ashburton Cemetery.
In her will Agnes made bequests to the China Millions Fund, the British and Foreign Bible Society, the Foreign Mission Fund & Presbyterian Orphanages in Christchurch.
