Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.

Amy Ladbrook was born in 1870 in Canterbury, New Zealand – the daughter of William Charles Ladbrook, a farmer, and Emma Warren. (See 155 Emma Ladbrook)

In 1881 the family moved to Charlton, near Gore, in Southland.

Amy and her mother signed the petition in North East Valley although they were living in Charlton at the time.

She married Andrew Sinclair, an ironmonger, in 1893 - they had 12 children and lived in Invercargill until 1909 when they moved to Dunedin.

Andrew died in 1931 and Amy died at her daughter’s home in Dunedin on 15 May 1947 – they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
