Annie Parsons Dunning was born 26 December 1865 in Guernsey in the Channel Islands – the daughter of Henry Dunning, a butcher, and Agnes Lee.

The family settled in Rothesay, Dunedin where Annie signed the suffrage petition, she was working as a dressmaker at the time.

They later moved to Albany St where Annie married Paul Maximilian Fink, a miner, on 24 October 1901.

They had one daughter & lived in Alexandra in Central Otago until about 1910 when they shifted back to Dunedin.

About 3 years later Paul was declared bankrupt due to failing mining ventures & the building of a house.
