Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Cecilia Williamson was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Williamson, a carpenter, and Margaret Fairbairn. (See 157 Mrs Williamson)

Cecilia married Duncan William Angus McLarty in 1889. Duncan used the name of Trainor – his stepfather Andrew Trainor married his mother Elizabeth in 1870. (See 141 Mrs Elizabeth Trainor)

Cecilia and Duncan had five children and when Cecilia signed the suffrage petition she gave her address as Duncan St whereas the electoral roll shows her living in Elm Row, nearby.

Duncan died suddenly in 1924 and Cecilia died on 30 March 1945, they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
