Caroline Carr was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Carr, a whipmaker, and Esther Garraway. (See 48 Esther Carr)
She married David Owen Yates, a vanman, in 1891 and they had four children.
When Caroline signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Grange St, Dunedin.
David died in 1939 and Caroline died on 24 May 1948 – they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
