Catherine Duncan was born about 1825 in Scotland.
She married John Ramsay on 17 August 1863 in Edinburgh and they emigrated to New Zealand soon after.
Their daughter Catherine was born in 1865 (See 94 Catherine L Ramsay) and they settled in Dunedin.
When Catherine signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Church St, Roslyn.
John died in 1895 and Catherine died at her home on 1 February 1905 – they are buried with their daughter in the Northern Cemetery.
