Christina Turner was born on 9 May 1838 in Midlothian, Scotland – the daughter of William Turner, a flesher, and Mary Kerr.
She married Robert Ramsay, an engine fitter, on 16 June 1857 in Edinburgh. They had a daughter (See 58 Mary H Ramsay) in 1863 in Glasgow and shortly after the family emigrated to New Zealand settling in Dunedin.
Robert died at their home in Arthur St in 1889 and when Christina signed the suffrage petition she was living with her daughter in Duncan St, Dunedin.
Christina died on 7 April 1910, she is buried with Robert in the Northern Cemetery.
