Helen/Ellen Miller was born in 1873 in New Zealand – the daughter of Robert Miller and Elizabeth Graham McNeill.

She spent her early years at Waitahuna in South Otago before the family moved to Dunedin.
When Helen signed the suffrage petition they were living in George Street.
Helen married William Alexander Wilson, a bootmaker, on 1 January 1902 – they had four children and lived in Milton in South Otago.
Helen died at her home on 31 December 1925 and William died in the Milton Hospital in 1930 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
