Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Emily Pearce Welsh was born about 1871 in England – the daughter of Margaret Welsh. (See 43 Mrs Welsh)
Emily emigrated to Otago with her mother and sister (See 43 Laura Welsh) in 1877 on the Marlborough.
They appear to have lived for a time in Arrowtown before moving to Dunedin.
When Emily signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Grosvenor St, Kensington working as a bookfolder.
Emily died at her home on 27 March 1905 – she is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
