Elizabeth Hill Gale was born about 1826.
Her husband James Smith was a carter and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Howe St, Dunedin.
James died in 1900 and Elizabeth died on 23 May 1902.
They are buried with their daughter (See 52 Elizabeth Bachop) in the Northern Cemetery.
