Elizabeth Jane Washer was born in 1866 in Brighton, Sussex, England- the daughter of James Washer, a plasterer, and Elizabeth Measor. (See 114 Elizabeth Washer)
In 1874 Elizabeth emigrated to Otago on the Corona with her family.
When she signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Forth St, Roslyn.
Elizabeth did not marry and just before WWI she moved to Palmerston in North Otago.
She died at 'The Oaks', Palmerston on 29 September 1937 and is buried with her parents in the Northern Cemetery.
''She took a great interest in church matters and was an enthusiastic choir member for a number of years'.
