Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Isabella Stout Manson was born in the Orkney Islands, Scotland on 8 August 1871 – the daughter of George Manson, a fisherman, and Ann Stout. (See 59 Ann Manson)

She emigrated to New Zealand with her family in the 1870s and they settled in Dunedin.

When Isabella signed the petition she gave her address as Castle St although the family also signed in nearby Frederick St.

She married Frank Manson, a clerk, on 8 February 1894 at her home in Athol Place and they had two children.

Frank died at their home in Wellington in 1906.

Isabella returned to Dunedin where she died on 3 February 1951. She is buried with Frank in the Northern Cemetery.
