Jane Laura Hastie Brown was born in 1873 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Brown, a clerk and salesman, and Catherine Meek Hastie. (See 36 Catherine Brown)
Jane worked as a teacher and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Cargill Rd, South Dunedin.
She married Clinton Heywood Sabine Pasley, a bank clerk, in 1905 and they lived in Invercargill.
Clinton died in 1935 and Jane died on 20 January 1938 – they are buried together in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
