Jane Ann Farquharson was born about 1851 in Scotland – the daughter of David Farquharson and Marion Grosset.

She emigrated to Otago in 1858 with her family on the Three Bells and they settled in Dunedin.

Jane married James Wilkie, a labourer, on 10 August 1877 in Dunedin – they had eight children & when Jane signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Glenomaru in South Otago. Jane died at her home in April 1893, she is buried in the Romahapa Cemetery.

James remarried in 1902 (See 106 Maggie Lefeber), he died in 1939 and is also buried in the Romahapa Cemetery.
