Josepha/Josephine Whyte was born about 1875 in New Zealand –the daughter of Martin Whyte and Margaret Dwyer. (See 83 Margaret Whyte)

When Josephine signed the suffrage petition she was living with her widowed mother and sister in Dundas St, Dunedin working as a dressmaker.

After her mother’s death in 1900 Josephine and her sister Margaret moved to South Dunedin.

Josephine died on 23 July 1925 – she is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
