This entry is either Margaret Whyte nee Dwyer or her daughter Margaret.
Margaret Dwyer was born about 1833. She married Martin Whyte in 1863 in New Zealand and they had three daughters.
Martin was declared insolvent in 1881 – he died in the Dunedin Hospital in 1886.
When Margaret signed the suffrage petition she was living with her daughters in Dundas St, Dunedin.
She died on 11 April 1900 and she is buried with Martin in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
Margaret Whyte jnr. was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of Martin Whyte and Margaret Dwyer.
When Margaret signed the suffrage petition she was living with her widowed mother and sister in Dundas St, Dunedin working as a dressmaker.
After her mother’s death in 1900 Margaret and her sister Josephine (See 83 Josepha Whyte) moved to South Dunedin.
Margaret died on 4 April 1945 – she is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
