Catherine/Kate Millar Meikle was born in 1867 in New Zealand, the daughter of Robert Meikle, a contractor, and Margaret Miller McIntosh.
When she signed the suffrage petition, Catherine was living in Russell St with her family. Her mother Margaret and sister Allison also signed the petition.
She married Robert William Davies, a warehouseman, on 20 December 1893 at Knox Church, Dunedin. They had three children.
Catherine and Robert celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1943. At the time they were living in Wellington, where Catherine died on 1 July 1944 and Robert died in 1945. They were both cremated and their ashes buried in the Karori Cemetery, Wellington.
