Louisa Rose was born in 1865 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of Thomas Rose, a miner, and Sarah Elliott. (See 246 S Rose)
The family sailed for Greymouth on the Alhambra in 1866 and settled in Cobden.
Louisa married Daniel Malcolm McLeod, a railway employee, in 1887 and they had three sons.
When she signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cobden.
Louisa died at her home in Cobden on 5 August 1941 and Daniel died in 1943 – they are buried in the Karoro Cemetery.
Louisa’s obituary said she 'was an active worker in the Methodist Church'.
