Louisa Matthews was born about 1861, she was possibly the sister in law of Mary Matthews (See 64 Mary Matthews).

She was also the sister of Sarah Collie (See 338 Mrs Sarah Collie)

She did not marry and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Stafford St, South Dunedin (now Fawcett St).

Louisa later moved to Moray Place, Dunedin before shifting to Invercargill where she died on 24 June 1939.

She is buried in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
