Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Martha Dues McBride was born in 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Dues McBride, a tailor, and Bessie/Betsy Millar. (See 125 B McBride)

Martha did not marry and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in the Nevada subdivision of Roslyn working as a tailoress.

She lived with her family until her death on 11 December 1938 and is buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
