Margaret/Maggie McDougall was born in New Zealand in 1869 – the daughter of Donald McDougall, a platelayer, and Jemima Thomson.
When she signed the suffrage petition Maggie was living with her family in Palmerston working as a dressmaker.
She died at Palmerston on December 10th 1900 and is buried in the family grave in the Palmerton Cemetery.
