Margaret Miller McIntosh was born in Scotland about 1844. She emigrated to New Zealand on the W H Haselden, arriving at Lyttleton in December 1864.
Margaret married Robert Meikle, a contractor, on 30 December 1864 at Knox Church, Dunedin.
They had eleven children & lived, at first, at Port Molyneux, then in Dunedin.
When she signed the suffrage petition Margaret was living in Russell St with her family. Her daughters, Catherine, and Allison, also signed the petition.
Robert died in 1918. Margaret died on 29 April 1925. They are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
