Alice Mary Power was born about 1865, the daughter of Martin Power and Catherine Mary.
She emigrated to Otago with her family in 1880 on the Mataura and they settled in Palmerston, where Alice signed the suffrage petition.
After her parents’ deaths in 1909 and 1911 Alice stayed on and ran the family farm for a few years.
She died at Palmerston on October 22nd 1935 and is buried with her family in the Palmerston Cemetery.
