Margaret Martin Wilson was born in New Zealand in 1870, the daughter of David Martin Wilson, a baker, and Janet Hall.
Margaret’s mother died when she was three-years-old and her father re-married the following year. Her step mother died in 1888.
When she signed the suffrage petition, Margaret was living in Arthur St, Dunedin with her father and siblings. She was working as a housekeeper.
Margaret did not marry and she died on 20 September 1962. She was cremated and her ashes scattered.
